2018-2019 scholarships for Brimfield High School students
An email will be sent out to all BHS seniors when scholarship information is announced. This may be every few days to every few weeks depending on how many come through. If you would like your personal email address rather than your school email address please let Mrs. Messineo know. Also, if parents would like to be added to the list, I can do that, too! Paper copies of the scholarships can be found on the bulletin board in the Counseling Office.
Illinois Central College Scholarship assistance The application can be found by going to icc.edu/scholarships and clicking on "All Scholarships" on the left side of the screen. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2019.

2019 Illinois Chemical Education Foundation The Chemical Industry Council of Illinois, through the Illinois chemical Education Foundation (ICEF) presents a number of $2,000 scholarships each year to top high school senior science students. The ICEF’s objective is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have exemplified outstanding achievement in academics, extracurricular/employment activities and community involvement. The information needs to be postmarked no later than Friday February 22, 2019, and received no later than Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Please pick up an instructional page from Mrs. Messineo.
The Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship Award, Students throughout the State of Illinois who wish to attend any post-secondary school or accredited vocational or technical training school and who have maintained at least a "C" grade average may make application for a scholarship through the Grand Lodge Office in Lincoln, Illinois. Applications are available at www.ioof-il.org
The River Cup Foundation While one of the criteria for eligibility is an involvement in the game of golf, the scholarships are not limited to those who have excelled in playing golf, and it is definitely not a requirement that the recipients play on a college golf team. Background information on the River Cup Foundation, facts about the scholarship including eligibility criteria and the application procedure, and the application itself are available on the Foundation's website at www.rivercup.com. Vina A. Miller Memorial Scholarship - Conservation 2019 ($1,000) The following must be included with your application: 1. A statement describing your Field of Study in Conservation (Examples include but are not limited to: Environmental Studies, Landscaping, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Rehabilitation, Wildlife, Forestry, Land, Management, Ecology, Oceanography, Marine Biology, Recycling) 2. Volunteer activities 3. Goals and ambitions 4. School transcripts, ACT or SAT scores 5. Two letters of Recommendation - NO Relatives. Must be postmarked by February 15, 2019.
2019 GFWC Illinois Native American Scholarship Application ($750) The following must be included with your application: 1. Extracurricular activities 2. Volunteer activities 3. Goals and ambitions, including why you are a good candidate for this scholarship 4. School transcripts, ACT or SAT scores 5. Two letters of recommendation - No Relatives Tribal affiliations. Students must attend an Illinois school. Mail application and all supplemental materials must be postmarked by February 15, 2019. Emailed applications will not be considered!
2019 Lorado Taft Art Scholarship Application ($1,000) The following must be included with your application: 1. Extracurricular activities 2. Volunteer activities 3. Goals and ambitions 4. School transcripts, ACT/SAT scores 5. Two letters of recommendation NO Relatives 6. Color photos or digital copies of three original art works - please include a description of each. 2019 GFWC Illinois Cultural Exchange Scholarship ($500) The following must be included with your application: 1. A Statement describing why you want to study in a foreign country, why you chose this particular country and what you plan to gain from this experience. 2. Educational plans 3. 2019 Vocational Scholarship Application ** The vocational field focuses on job-specific training for students interested in the skilled trades rather than students pursuing professional careers. Most vocational students will be attending junior colleges, vocational or trade schools. Examples of vocational fields of study include but are not limited to: cosmetology, culinary arts, building trades, automotive, medical & dental assisting, computer repair and technology, firefighting, HVAC, office management, welding. The following must be included with your application: 1. Extracurricular activities 2. Volunteer activities 3. Goals and ambitions 4. School transcripts, ACT/SAT scores 5. 2019 Performing Arts Scholarship Application DRAMA - $1000 Arthur Grant Smith Drama Scholarship / MUSIC - $1000 Hamilton Ridge Scholarship The following must be included with your application: 1. Extracurricular activities 2. Volunteer activities 3. Goals and ambitions 4. School transcripts, ACT/SAT scores 5. Two letters of recommendation No relatives 6. For Arthur Grant Smith Drama -Include details on drama/theater background such as private lessons, auditions, performances, etc. 7. For Hamilton Ridge Music - (Instrumental or Vocal) Include a performance disc or thumb drive with three audition selections, not to exceed a total of 15 minutes. Audition selections should be solo performances. Detail musical background such as private lessons, competitions, performances, etc. Student must attend an Illinois school Fall semester 2019. Everything must be postmarked by February 15, 2019. Emailed applications will not be considered.
