Mrs. Goodell's homeroom teamed up with Mrs. Jones' class recently to color happy messages for the Kindness Club. All students colored inspirational notes and then left them in various grade school cubbies. Everyone had a great time!

This Brimfield Indians Volleyball Team has been nominated for the FM 95 Hometown Heroes of the Week award! This is a community voted award, with the winning team for the week advancing for a chance to win $1,000 for their high school's athletic department when we wrap up the season.

The voting is underway now at https://www.fm95online.com/hometown-heroes/
Fans can vote once per day online through Wednesday (11/05) night. Also here is a link to the voting form that can be printed and passed around to get voting signatures:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Es-BnnHuCqd_-I-E7A8kfRIoDbHh-eldEOsmpNSmKiw/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.441whiy5yzd1

The team with the most votes submitted will be announced Thursday (11/06) morning as our weekly winner.

If your team wins, we'll be in contact with you Thursday morning to see if we can arrange a time to meet with the team. The weekly winning team gets a plaque and Hometown Heroes t-shirts for the team members and staff. We like to record an audio segment with the team that includes each varsity team member saying their name and position. We play portions of that audio on the air on FM 95 throughout the weekend congratulating the team.

Good luck to the Indians and we hope you have some fun with being nominated for FM 95 Hometown Heroes of the Week!

October 31, 2025

Dear Brimfield Families and Community Members,

I hope this message finds you well. As we move through the school year, I would like to take a moment to explain the purpose of our School Improvement Days and Teacher Institute Days—two important parts of our academic calendar that directly support teaching and learning in our district.

This year, we have scheduled school improvement almost once a week focusing on the work in year two of our Five Year District Strategic Plan.  You can find a summary one pager of our Five Year Strategic Plan on our school district’s website https://www.brimfield309.com/.

Contrary to what you might have been told or what you have heard, teachers spend a great amount of time on these days working on their crafts and improving their skills to stay current with best instructional practices.  Today, when the kids go home to celebrate Halloween at 11:30, the teachers and administration will be here at school working on making our school district better.

School Improvement Days

On School Improvement Days, students are dismissed early so that teachers and staff can participate in professional learning and collaborative planning. During this time, educators engage in activities such as:

  • Reviewing student achievement data to adjust instruction and interventions;

  • Collaborating in professional learning communities (PLCs) to share effective practices;

  • Aligning curriculum and assessments with state standards; and

  • Engaging in training on new instructional tools, technology, or safety procedures.

These days are carefully structured to ensure that our staff has the time to reflect, plan, and continuously improve the quality of instruction that takes place in our classrooms every day.

Teacher Institute Days

Teacher Institute Days are full-day sessions dedicated entirely to professional development. These days often feature district- or state-led workshops, guest speakers, or targeted training in areas such as curriculum development, student wellness, cultural competency, and classroom management. The goal is to provide our educators with the most current and effective strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.

While students do not attend school on these days, the work taking place directly enhances their learning experiences and strengthens our entire educational community.  We recognize that changes in school schedules can create adjustments for families, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and support. The time invested in professional growth for our teachers ultimately benefits every student in our district.

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us provide an excellent education for all learners.  As part of our Five Year Strategic Plan, we want to continue to communicate and be transparent with all of our families and community.

Warm regards,
Chad Jones
