Hi! My name is Mrs. Kelly Walker. I am starting my 30th year at Brimfield Grade School, which makes me feel a little old. I am originally from a small town in southeast Iowa named Donnellson, which is about the size of Brimfield. Growing up in a small town gave me a real love for it, and I am happy to call Brimfield my home.
I attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL, and received my Bachelors degree in special education there. In 2000, I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University, and in May of 2012, I received a Masters in Educational Administration from St. Xavier University. In July of 2017 I graduated from Benedictine University with my Reading Specialist Masters. I not only enjoy being a teacher, but I also enjoy being a student!
I am married to Mike Walker, who works as a computer programmer for Bradley University. He is a football coach for the Elmwood-Brimfield Trojans, which he loves. I have a step-son, Michael, who is 26, married, and works at Caterpillar. He loves football, basketball, and video games. Our daughter, Kiara, is 16 and a junior here in Brimfield. She is involved in band, jazz band, and takes bass guitar lessons in Peoria. We have two Boston Terriers, who are very spoiled. We have been active with Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue, and believe strongly in their mission. I love to read, spend time with the family, play cards and board games, and watch movies.
