Alan Stufflebeam

Alan Stufflebeam is a mathematics teacher at the high school. This year Mr. Stufflebeam is teaching three sections of Algebra I, one section of Algebra II, and two sections of Trigonometry. This is Mr. Stufflebeam's twenty-first year teaching at Brimfield High School. In addition to teaching a six sections of mathematics courses, Mr. Stufflebeam is Student Council advisor and National Honor Society (NHS) advisor.
Alan Stufflebeam is a 1985 graduate of Bradley University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics with an emphasis in secondary education. After teaching for five years at Brimfield, Mr. Stufflebeam was accepted into the Master's program in the mathematics department at Illinois State University. For three years he took night and summer mathematics courses and received his Master's of Science degree in Mathematics from ISU in 1993. Immediately after receiving his master's degree, Mr. Stufflebeam was accepted into the doctorate program in Mathematics Education. Over the next two years, he completed all the course work (30 semester hours) required for a Ph.D. in Math Ed. Due to financial and time restraints and personal reasons, Mr. Stufflebeam decided to not complete the doctorate program.
For the first 15 years of his teaching career while teaching at Brimfield High School, Mr. Stufflebeam taught summer school in Elmwood, Brimfield, and Peoria. In addition he has taught an ACT-SAT review course at Bradley University every year (February - March). The course is designed for high school juniors preparing to take the ACT and/or SAT tests (as well as the PSAE). Mr. Stufflebeam also organized and taught (along with other BHS faculty members) an ACT course held at Brimfield High School.
On a personal note, Alan Stufflebeam has been married for 32 years (as of October 19, 2006), is the father of one (Angela Potter who is a junior high school English teacher and former Bradley University cheerleader), and the proud grandfather of three grandchildren - Brennan (4), Ella (2), and Scarlett (2 months). Mr. Stufflebeam's main hobby is playing drums with a local country-rock band.
