BIOLOGY 140

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

Spring  2007

Lecture:  B Day

Instructor:  Cathy Krostal

Office Hours:  By appointment or 2nd hour A and B day

Phone:  446-3349

Email:  teachbio1@AOL.COM

Required Books:  Text:  Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology, Fourth Edition,

                                                2001, Seeley, Stephens, Tate.

Laboratory Manual:  Laboratory Manual for Anatomy and

                                                                                    Physiology by Elaine Marieb, 2002.

Lecture Exams:  Five hourly exams (100 points each) will be given during the

semester (see lecture schedule).  The fifth exam will be given during

the final exam time.  All exams will be objective in nature (multiple

choice, true/false, matching, short answer) and will cover material

lecture, lab and the assigned readings. You are responsible for all

                                  assigned readings.

Exam Day Policy:  Be on time.  After the first student leaves NO more exams will be

given out.  You must take all exams at the scheduled time.  If an

emergency arises you must contact me by email or phone at least

one hour before the exam.  If you miss an exam and don’t notify

me BEFORE the exam you may take a comprehensive final to

replace your lowest exam grade.  (The final, Exam 5, grade can’t

be replaced by the comprehensive final).  However, you are only

allowed to use this option ONE time.

Quizzes and

Attendance:         At least once a week there will be a quiz over material covered in a

previous lecture.  They will be worth 30 points each and they must

be taken during class.  The quizzes can’t be made up or taken at

another time.  Therefore to receive the 30 points you MUST be

present in class.  These quizzes will also be used to determine

your attendance/participation.  You are allowed to drop 2 quizzes

                                    during the semester.
