Christy Gore, third grade teacher

Biography

by Christy Gore

December 20, 2007

Hello from third grade.  The 2007-2008 school marks my 13th year of teaching.  I earned my Bachelor's degree from Bradley University and my Master's from St. Xavier.  I first began my teaching career at neighboring Princeville grade school, teaching second grade.  I came to Brimfield grade school in 1996 and began here teaching Kindergarten.  It was there that I remained until 2000 when I first started teaching third grade.

I live in Brimfield with my family.  My husband, Steve, works at Caterpillar, and we have four sons.  Nicholas (16), is a sophmore here at BHS.  He is a member of the Brimfield/Elmwood Varsity Golf team.  Last year they made it to Super Sectionals and this year they were successful in obtaining their "State" goal. They placed 9th in the State. Go B/E Golf!  Our next son, Chase (6) is in 1st grade.  Chase enjoys his Grandparent's farm, plays baseball and biddy basketball and wants to take up golf as well.  Mitchell (5) also plays baseball and loves to learn new things at school. Scott (3) is an animal lover and anxiously waits to join his brothers in sports. Both Mitchell and Scott attend Brimfield's pre-school, Bright Futures program.  As a family the Gores' spend time remodeling their home and during the summer, spend a great deal of time at Oak Run swimming and boating.

I myself graduated from BHS in 1986.   My children are the 5th generation in my family to attend school in Brimfield School District.  Seeing children enter the building with parents I went to school with is always fun.  I look forward to many rewarding years here and can't imagine a better place to be, to both teach and raise my children.
