Come Join the Team

If you are a girl entering the 6th grade - 8th grade you can go out for the 2009 BGS softball team. Practice will begin on July 27th at the BHS softball field. The first week of practice will start at 9 AM and last until 11 AM.
Practice-The first week of practice will be
used for tryouts. Depending on the number of girls trying out, we
may be able to have a B team. The coaching staff will use the first
week to make those determination.
If you have a conflict and will not be able to transport your
daughter or find her a ride please contact us before the first day
of practice. Also, if your daughter plans to play softball but is
going to miss the first practice please contact us prior to that
day.
Physicals-All girls interested in playing softball need to have a
current physical before they can participate in practice. Sport
physicals are good for one year, plan early and schedule an
appointment sometime before July 28th.
Equipment-If you plan
to buy new sliding shorts (not required) consider black. Later in
the season, players will be required to have the same color. Again,
please do not feel you have to purchase any at this time. The same
goes for helmets. If you purchase new, consider red, which is what
the team uses and the girls usually like to match. We have plenty
of helmets but if your daughter chooses to have her own, red is a
good choice.
Water-Plan to send your daughter to practice
EVERYDAY with something to drink. It will be very hot and they need
to stay hydrated. I plan to bring a cooler and ice to keep drinks
in.
You will receive information about a parent meeting during that
week. You will also receive a practice schedule and game schedule
during the first week.
