Aaron Schock Summer Reading Program
by Mr. Henson
May 12, 2009
Aaron Schock is inviting area students to participate in his 1st Annual Summer Reading Club. This years theme is "Dive Into a Book". U.S. Representative Schock is developing the reading club to encourage students, kindergarten through 8th grade, to continue reading throughout the summer months. Students who participate in the club will pledge to read 15 books during their summer vacation.
At the bottom of this page is a brochure that students should download if they wish to participate in the program. Once their pledge of reading 15 books has been fulfilled, the student should complete the form and send it to Mr. Schock's Office. Those students will be invited, along with their families, to a celebration party. This years celebration is planned to be an ice cream party held at an indoor aquatic facility, following this years theme.
Kids who read are most likely to succeed. The Summer Reading Club will be a fun way to encourage students to maintain strong reading skills during their time away from school. When children read what they enjoy, they learn to love reading and become better readers.
