Academics: Grade School

A letter from the P.E. Department

September 17, 2007

    P.E.

Dear Parents,

Welcome to another school year! Varieties of enjoyable and educational activities have been planned for your child this year. Children enjoy P.E. better when it is fun, safe, challenging, adventurous and non-threatening for all. We have created a respectful learning environment where all students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and establish healthy habits for a lifetime of fitness activity.

Our goal this year is to create a true home-school connection. We believe that communication between home and school is very important and by all of us working together, we can make this a very successful year. It is important that you are an active part of your child's education, and we invite you to phone or visit our classroom at anytime.

It is important parents be supportive of good classroom behavior so their child has a good environment for maximum learning. Please talk with your child about how important it is for him/her to do their best, respect and cooperate with others, and follow directions, in their physical education class.

We will be participating in a variety of different activities this year at BGS. These include problem solving, cooperative learning, adventure education, rhythm/dance, fitness and wellness, first aid and safety, and CPR. We will also be doing our traditional units that include volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, gymnastics, bowling, ropes, etc….

The following is a list of dates for our fitness activities. These dates are subject to change. Parents are welcome to attend many of the scheduled activities and volunteers are also needed. Thank you again for your support.
