CALCULUS

 

Course Description

 

            Students in Pre-Calculus will study the following:

                        Review of Algebraic Concepts

                        Trigonometric principles as they apply to all triangles

                        Series and Sequences

                        Limits and Continuity

                        Derivatives and Integrals

 

In-Class Work

 

            Homework:  Assigned daily     

From textbook and worksheets (worksheets correspond to similar section of textbook)

 

            Quizzes:  Some announced; some are ‘pop’ quizzes ( 1-2 per week)

 

            Tests:   1 major test every 2-3 weeks

 

9 Week Grades

 

            Homework:      20%

            Quizzes:            20%

            Tests:               60%

 

Semester Grade

 

            1st 9 weeks       40%

            2nd 9 weeks      40%

            Semester Test   20%

 

Other Information:

 

            Late homework is accepted up until the last day of the nine weeks.

            Poor homework assignments can be re-done and turned in the next time.

Tests and quizzes can be retaken only at the discretion of the teacher.
