October 20, 2006

Advanced Social Studies

Advanced social studies give students a chance to put their knowledge of society and civic planning into action.  Students must have completed Sociology and Psychology with a ā€œCā€ grade or better.  Students in this course will spend the entire year planning events, learning about how they can change the world around them, developing a plan for change, and then putting these plans into action.  Service learning is a major component in this senior level course.  Grades are based on enthusiastic participation in the planning and implementation of projects of their choice.  Instructor approval is required for this course.
