Jim Blane teaches Keyboarding II, Software Applications, Word Processing, Information Processing, Internet, Web Design, Accounting I & II at Brimfield High School. Mr. Blane is also the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, Technology Coordinator, and FBLA sponsor at BHS.
Coach Jim Blane is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his graduation from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Business Administration & Accounting. Coach Blane also earned a Business Education degree and MBA from Illinois State University.
Mr. Blane received the University of Illinois VOTEC Alumni of the Year Award in 1999 and was a runner-up for Those Who Excel Illinois Teacher of the Year Award.
Coach Blane will begin his 16th year as Business/Computer Instructor & Technology Coordinator and girls basketball coach at Brimfield High School. Recently the Lady Indians have won ICAC conference titles in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 as well as back-to-back regional titles in 2004 and 2005.
Jim and his wife Jeannie have been married for 26 years. He and Jeannie, who teaches 5th grade at Brimfield Grade School and is the Hall of Fame coach in the family with 9 state championship trophies, coached track & field together for 10 years. They are the proud parents of Ben, a West Point graduate and lieutenant currently serving in the U.S. Army, and Elizabeth, who will be a senior co-captain of the Lady Indians this coming season. Ben Blane is currently serving in Iraq.
This June 2006, Coach Blane and the legendary Coach Deb Fisher
coached the IBCA Class A North team to a 90-80 victory!
